Change Backup Destination

In case you need the backups on your server to be created on an external volume or block storage (to be able to modify your server storage at any time) you may use this shortcode to set the location of the backups directory (or volume) on your server.

This shortcode is available for the business & enterprise plans only.

To run Nodalio shortcodes on your server, please follow this guide.

Shortcode usage format:

  • sudo nodalio backupdisk /mnt/volume-name

Shortcode reference:

  • /mnt/volume-name – The external volume location (folder).

Once the modification is set, all backups created from now on will be placed inside the folder you specified and previously created backups will be moved to the new location.

In order to revert to the default settings, run the shortcode again with the following syntax: sudo nodalio backupdisk /var/backups
